1200°C Rotary Tube Furnace

Batch-Type Rotary Tube Furnace for Controlled Atmosphere Heat Treatment,,,

Ideal for laboratory research and small-scale production, this rotary tube furnace is designed for batch processing under controlled atmosphere at temperature up to 1000°C.

With the tapered-end tube and integrated barrier, the system effectively prevents highly dispersible materials from escaping the heating zone, enabling consistent heat treatment and carbonization of the input material.

It is particularly suitable for processing highly dispersible materials such as CNTs, graphene, and other nanomaterials—which are often difficult to handle in conventional rotary kilns.

Key Features

  • Optimized for Controlled Atmospheres
Suitable for inert gas or vacuum atmospheres up to 1000°C, thanks to the integrated End Caps (sealing mask) system.

  • Tube Size & Heating Zone
Equipped with a 120 mm diameter tapered-end SS310S stainless steel tube or quartz tube and a 300 mm heating zone, ensuring uniform heating performance.

  • Quck-Acess End Caps & Effortless Tube Removal
Simplifies both sample loading and retrieval-no need for flipping the tube or handling complex mechanical parts.

  • Stable Low-Speed Rotation (Adjustable2~30 rpm)
Provides smooth and reliable rotation even at the minimum speed of 2 rpm, ensuring gentle processing of delicate samples.

  • Advanced Barrier System for Material Retention (Stainless Steel Tube & Quartz Tube)
Precisely designed internal barriers with lab-optimized perforation sizes (1 mm for stainless steel, 0.5 mm for quartz) effectively contain fine, dispersible materials within the heating zone. Proven through practical research applications.

  • Built-in Mixing Baffles
Engineered to enhance tumbling motion and break apart agglomerated particles- especially beneficial for materials that resist mixing through rotation alone.

  • Optional Steam Port Intergration
Supports the introduction of ultra-pure steam into the tube, enabling thermochemical reactions and controlled oxidation or reduction processes.

  • Atmosphoere-Controlled Heat Treatment
Supports operations under vacuum, inert gas, or positive pressure to meet the demands of advanced thermal processing.

  • Pressure Monitoring
Integrated vacuum and pressure gauges allow real-time monitoring of internal tube pressure during thermal reactions.

Available Options

  • Mass Flow Controller (MFC)
Enables high-precision gas injection control for experimental consistency.

  • Back Pressure Regulator (BPR)
Maintains positive internal gas pressure via the outlet port for more stable process conditions.

  • Tapered-end Quartz Tube
Alternative material option with a fixed barrier (0.5 mm holes).

  • Removable Barrier for Quartz Tubes
Easy to insert or remove from the opposite end of the quartz tube; prevents material escape from the heating zone and acts as a gas diffuser.

  • Additional Steam inlet Port
Steam port can be added in addition to the standard gas inlet for expanded processing capabilities.

    • SH Scientific’s 1200°C Batch-Type Rotary Tube Furnace

Purpose-Built for Nanotubes, Fine Powders, and Highly Dispersible Materials

When working with ultra-fine powders, nanotubes, and other dispersible materials, researchers face a unique set of challenges: inconsistent mixing, particle migration, and labor-intensive sample recovery. SH Scientific’s 1200°C batch-type Rotary Tube Furnace was developed not for the masses but for the specialists who need a smarter solution.

      Precision-Driven Design for Maximum Yield
At the center of this system is a tapered-end stainless steel tube, purpose-built for advanced materials. The tapered geometry naturally concentrates heat in the hot zone and streamlines sample discharge-letting even the most stubborn particles release with a single tap. No tilting. No inversion. No wasted sample.

Seamless Operation with Quick-Open End Cap
Designed with workflow in mind, this batch-type Rotary Tube Furnace simplifies every step. The intuitive layout, paired with a quick-open end cap and fully removable tube, allows for effortless sample access. Simply slide out the tube and give it a light tap-your material is ready, no awkward angles required. It's a refreshing contrast to the outdated complexities of traditional tilt furnaces.

Barrier Systems Tailored for Lab-Grade Precision
To keep fine materials where they belong inside the hot zone, SH Scientific offers an optional barrier system available in stainless steel or quartz. These lab-tested barriers feature precision hole diameters (1 mm for stainless steel, 0.5 mm for quartz) and are the result of extensive real-world testing. Each variant is tailored for your preferred tube type, with fixed and removable options to suit diverse research conditions. It’s a level of customization rarely seen in off-the-shelf solutions.

Built-In Baffles for Consistent Tumbling and Heat Distribution
Dispersible materials are notoriously difficult to process evenly. That’s why our tube includes internal baffles designed to agitate, mix, and ensure every particle receives consistent heat exposure. Together with the barriers, they ensure reproducible outcomes crucial for high-accuracy research.

Steam-Enabled Chemistry with Ultra-Pure Water Integration
For labs exploring oxidation/reduction processes, steam can be a powerful ally. This furnace supports integration with ultra-pure water systems and steam generators, enabling reactive environments that accelerate chemical transformations. Controlled steam injection allows fine tuning of O₂and H₂partial pressures enhancing thermolysis and advancing reaction kinetics. Ideal for semiconductor research, advanced materials, and applications requiring ultra-clean environments.

A Furnace Designed for the Way You Work
Every feature of this furnace reflects input from real labs—not corporate boardrooms. From the removable stainless tube to the low-speed rotation, SH Scientific has stripped away the unnecessary and optimized what matters. No gimmicks. Just reliable, user-centric engineering for professionals who know what they need.
